Hello all Youth Baseball and Softball Families:
Date: May 29th, 2020
Dear Baseball/Softball Families:
First of all we would like to say that we hope everyone is staying healthy and safe. As a board we have had numerous meetings and discussions on how to proceed with the Covid-19 epidemic this year. Information exchange has been fluid.
We have been working side by side with the city to determine if we’re safe to play this season or not. After further evaluation we have decided to open the season with permission from the city. That being taken into account however, at any point that the city could close all the parks.
With getting final permission from the city to play this season, we will be taking every precaution to keep our players and families safe. There will be many changes for everyone. We will be sanitizing the benches and equipment as much as possible.
We would also like to suggest the following to all families:
If possible please provide your child with their own helmet and bat.
Wearing a mask is optional, but please supply your son or daughter with sanitizing wipes or gel for use after the evaluations, practices and games.
We respectfully request that families / parents / players do not congregate after events. Do your best to maintain social distancing during practices and games.
If you feel sick, stay home
No sunflower seeds at practices or games
We also will be attaching a waiver form to a future email that every parent must sign before their child participates in our evaluation process or any PYAA baseball evaluation or softball practice.
Baseball evaluations: Like our normal evaluations in the past, we do not allow parents to sit and watch while we go through the evaluation process. When bringing your child to evaluations we will have a check-in table that you must turn in your consent/waiver form. We have set dates and times for our evaluation process which we understand is short notice so we scheduled a makeup date if you’re unable to attend. If neither of those dates works we will have to schedule a separate date to eval ASAP. If this is your situation please let us know. (See our League information page for dates and times)
Fastpitch Softball: When you register, you will be contacted by your coach in regards to the season.
Our goal as a non-profit organization is trying to provide boys and girls with the best experience of baseball and fastpitch softball as possible, while providing a safe environment for all.
Stay safe and we look forward to seeing you on the ball fields,
